I know I did a post over a month ago about thinking about getting an Ovation. I have not been posting much and I hope I did not post this already but I can’t find anything so I’m pretty sure I did not! Anyway, it’s a Ovation Celebrity. I have been playing it a lot and I really like it. Different than your typical acoustic but very nice and plays well. There may be another one in my future.

A friend of mine has one in black. It’s an electric version, and for some reason he only plays it in electric mode. I played it a bit once, and it sounded just fine as an acoustic to my ears.

Now that’s a very beautiful guitar there.
The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

New guitar day is always a good one
There nice guitars with a nice neck and not too loud and sound good not plugged in. A nice thing to noodle around on.
A general tip I’ve a bit of non slip shelf lining about 10″ x 6″ which I put on my knee under the guitar body, I know the older model ovations used to scoot away, I use it on my strat it’s probably the way I sit but I thought I’d pass it on.
Looking forward to hearing it

Congrats, Cobalt! I don’t know but for some reason people using Ovations in electric mode…Brian May, Björn Ulvaeus, Kerry Livgren e.t.c.
Premium brand instrument, worth the try!

Thanks everyone for the comments. I enjoy this acoustic a lot. It sounds nice both ways but Ovation has it’s own sound so either you do or you don’t!
I have done quite a few lessons here but I have never posted a vid yet but I’m planning on posting a fingerstyle blues lesson from this site that I have completed. If I don’t chicken out!

Great guitar had one just like it. Just recently sold it, bought a Mitchell ME1 for playing around with. Also trying my hand out on a Epiphone Dot Electic. I’ve played ovations for 30 years or more in the clubs and bars around my hang outs. They sound great plugged in or unplugged.
Have Fun……………………
