Apologies If there is an ongoing thread for new members or a better place to have posted this. I had a quick look and didn’t see anything jump out… and as I’m interested primarily in blues… yall seemed like the people to meet.. lol.
So Long story short, My Name is Chris I’m 37. I played drums in Highschool. I’ve always had a Love for Blues so I picked up the Harmonica about 5 years ago or so. Got pretty decent at it actually, I know when people say “I play harmonica” the room generally cringes… lol. And often for good reason. But when harmonica is good it’s a thing of beauty.
Anyhow I’ve picked up guitar during this S Show we call the pandemic And I’m making pretty decent progress. I had a bit of knowledge to leverage from harmonica playing. Blues/Pentatonic Scale, how to count a 12 bar, major scale/ chord makeup, etc. I’m a theory lightweight for sure, but I know enough to get me in trouble.
I signed up for Guitar Tricks online course and learned a bit in the basics section, but it got real stagnant and boring when it got to learning musical styles.
I’ve been following Brian’s YouTube lessons here and there and really learned alot of fun things to play. Infact most of what I practice when noodling is from Brian’s YouTube… I recently realised.
Then a few weeks ago Brian uploaded Episode 437 Mixing Major and Minor Blues. I Loved that lesson SO MUCH that I literally payed for a year membership just to get the second half of that video… lol.
Of course the Blues Lead, Hendrix Rhythm, and the forum here were major selling points aswell. I was a memeber of a forum like this one for harmonica And it helped my playing improve in leaps and bounds. The community was also an amazing one. So a strong forum community was a huge selling point for membership aswell.Anyways, I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and learning/bouncing ideas off eachother. I’ll end this now before it becomes a Novel. Lol
Nice To Meet Y’all.
Well ….. Let’s try this again.
