Hi folks my name is Eileen, after many many years of a musical hiatus (working, raising kids) I have had alot of success in the past 4 years playing acoustic in a duo and bass in a trio. I’ve done hundreds of live shows in the past 4 years and its been a dream come true.
However its left me a little bored strumming away or just playing bass when I wish I was lead guitar, and now my goal to front my own blues band. Its crazy how I have played guitar so many years and never had an interest in leads of any sort, and now I am kinda obsessed with the idea but with playing out so much I have to admit I get a bit lazy in moving forward. And also distracted as to what I should actually be practicing.
I am really excited to find this site because I think I can find my level here. As of now I know alot but I am still not hearing what I need to play in a way that sounds natural.
I welcome suggestions on what you guys are practicing everyday and what has given you the most bang for the buck in moving ahead. After having to memorize so many songs for my two bands I just want to get good at improvising right now. Thanks!!
