Hey there Active Melody members! New member here. Couldn’t figure out how to start a new post on the forum. Sorry about jumping in here, but…
Just wanted to say I’m glad to be here. At this point in my guitar playing journey, Brian’s lessons seem to be just what I was looking for. Been playing around with the guitar most of my life, but mostly just a strummer. I’m fortunate to have a group of like minded musicians who I play with every week, although we haven’t played any gigs yet. Two of us are in our late 50’s, one just turned 70, and we have a couple of young bucks (a son of one guy and a work buddy of mine). Been working up material and are scheduled to play our 1st gig in front of people in April. I’m actually the drummer in that band for about 75% of the songs, but I do sing lead on a few (some on drums, some on guitar) and play some leads on a couple. I’ve learned specific lead parts to songs in the past but really want to learn to improvise. It seems I’m in the right place for that. I can already tell I’m going to get lost for hours at a time digging into this material. Looking forward to it!
