Hello everyone, I stumbled across a few activemelody.com videos on YouTube yesterday & liked what I saw so just took the plunge & joined up for a year. I’m 63, today as a matter of fact, so I guess this is my birthday present to myself. I’ve been playing off & on since I got my first guitar (a tele) at 18. I’ve never taken lessons & I guess my best asset is a good ear. I’m just a bedroom player & my hope is I can learn enough & make enough progress to stay enthusiastic & not get so discouraged that I let my guitars collect dust as has been my routine over the years. I can’t wait to get started & I hope I can be an asset to the community here. Thanks, Bruce Caldwell

Hello Bruce and welcome to the Active Melody community. Members from all over the globe here, but seems like English language is the “go”,and along with musical notes. πŸ™‚

On a side note: if you want to private message a member, go to their profile (just click their picture on any post they’ve made and it will take you to ) where it says “add friend” and check it. Wait till they approve your friendship and then you and the other member can PM each other.

      Again welcome aboard.

when you sing from the heart, it requires only a guitar. M. Shihab Uddin

Playing music on the guitar is like sculpturing your soul with musical notes. πŸ™‚ 6 stringerPete

The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . πŸ™‚ 6stringerPete

It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. πŸ™‚ Pete

Welcome Bruce. I hope you still have the tele; that would be vintage, like us!

Hi Bruce! I think many of us here are “bedroom players” πŸ˜‰ You should find plenty of inspiration here so enjoy it. Also, Happy Birthday!
