Hi – Just signed up. I used to play in a band in the early 80’s while in college, mostly simple rhythm garage band stuff, but we had a lot of fun and we were able to play in exotic places because we were on a training ship for the merchant marines. There was also a blue grass acoustic group that were more talented musically on the same ship. I always kept my eye on them because they were a good motivation to up our game a bit. Learning blues guitar well is the last thing in my bucket and I was very fortunate to pursue another love which was fine art painting of seascapes and I became successful and then moved on. I was able to improve my painting by going to a website called wetcanvas to get critiques and also had a local mentor who showed me how to do giclees. Overall a very positive experience for me. I also have a childhood friend who became a very accomplished guitarist and teaches in a town up north in an old well established music store. And when I was 14 years old I used to go to a local and somewhat famous club in my hometown called the Inn of the Beginning and save tables for pitchers of beer while the patrons slipped outside for a smoke and we were able to see some fantastic music performances by bands and artists that later became famous. This would’ve been around 1971 and 1972. So I am flooded with fond memories and my fingers still work! Thank you to Brian for this amazing site. I have already been digging in to the free stuff. Time to take the 2nd step! Blessings – Denny from Sebastopol
No one is safe until all are safe. This is the true and quite profound meaning of the unity of the human family. You can make this a practice because it is not only an idea but a reality.
