Hello,
my old Hoyer dreadnought acoustic guitar from 1974 unfortunately is becoming decrepit. (Cracks in the Soundboard and wooden Bridge, Sound is getting sharper and at 1st fret Picking is quite blocked) I showed it to my wife and I was able to convince her, that for me a life without a new guitar is really i m p o s s i b l e !!! And so next week I will go to our best local guitar shop with a budget of € 2.000 to 2.500, to buy a new one with cutaway. But the the greatest question is – which one? Without testing – at the moment my favourite is a used Taylor 512ce V-class with Taylor ES pick-ups in good condition for € 1.790 (new € 2.799), or a Taylor 414ce V-class, or a Lakewood D18 CP, or M18 CP, both with Baggs Anthem pick-ups, or a used Martin 000-18 with Baggs Lyric pick-up (without cutaway)
What experiences have you with that brands, what would you guess? Thank you in advance.
Here a link to the nice little guitar shop.
