MUSIC NOTATION – Cannot work out this rhythm ?!?!

I am so confused by the *fourth bar* of this song (bass). Am going crazy because I think I can read it fine but it doesn’t match up with the example audio provided.

I’ve attached the audio https://soundcloud.com/kester-gillie-andrews/audio-example-the-bottle/s-sc7NJdhc51z. It sounds to me like notes are falling on the “+” and “a” of the second beat and analysing the waveform on the grid in logic seems to confirm this. But the notation seems to show notes on the “e” and “+” of the second beat (mute and C on the G string respectively).

Hope this makes sense and any help would be much appreciated.

Kester,this site has a few people that mess around with bass,but it is mainly for the six string guitar,and mostly blues in the 1-4-5 progression.I would suggest you go to a Bass site to get an informed answer!!……Sal
