This one is probably the hardest thing I’ve ever worked out. It’s about half mine, and half from Adam Rafferty’s brilliant arrangement. And there’s even some stuff that I owe to Brian in here. So, this month’s work, I hope you like:

Standing ovation. Bravo!
Nice arrangement but very challenging to be certain. Loved your dynamics and how solid your bass lines were, especially the timing between bass and melody.
Excellent. -

Fine jazzy playing. Walking Bass is most interesting.

Great playing there, Duffy! A wonderful arrangement of Errol Garner’s Jazz Standard. I especially like the harmonics you throw in, and, of course, the walking bass. That was very, very good! Congrats!

Well, between you, Adam and Brian, you did a wonderful job of Misty. Top marks for the clarity of the walking base interwoven around the melody. That’s probably the most comprehensive piece I’ve seen posted on ActiveMelody …..That’s a level I’d struggle to achieve, Congratulations Duffy.

Maybe a little off topic – but she is amazing in her own right. I communicated with her as well when I saw her lesson on All Of Me. She could not have been more pleasant!

Duffy that is marvelous. No kidding that is hard to play. Your timing is excellent. And, of course the tonal is blissful. Thanks for sharing. Gonna listen to this all morning!

A very talented musician you are Duffy! Your best performance. What an arrangement, with a walking bass, harmonics, rhythm slaps etc… and you pulled it off masterfully!

Duffy,
That looked like a lifetime of learning in one arrangement. Awesome.

This is incredible, Duffy! You are probably the only one in AM who’s able to learn such a huge stuff, man. Wonderful playing, so flawless and rhythmically very accurate. Great job.

I love how you keep those bass lines walking while staying on the melody; then there’s the great jazz chords; your whole technique and presentation has really moved to a higher level: dynamics, phrasing, varied attack, clean articulation – that’s a seriously professional recording.
I’ve seen some of Adam Rofferty’s arrangements and they’re quite a challenge; so well done, Duffy, and thanks for all that effort. -

I have learned that there are some extremely talented acoustic finger style players on this site. That was masterful – you are at the top of your game. It is rare to hear a performance that good on any music site or venue.
