I have always struggled with “applying” lessons learned. Not in life, but on the guitar. I love the lessons Brian provides and I am learning a ton… but applying them in a rhythm and vocal scenario completely flummoxes me. Rather than try to describe my dilemma, there’s a single video on YouTube that, If I could apply the lessons here to the riffs in that video, I could check about five things off my Bucket List. Jimmy Capps (The Man in Back) is my guitar hero. So sad we lost him a month ago. He did “more with less” in a Country Song like B.B. King does with the Blues. I am certain that every lick in this video has been taught on Active Melody… but… for the life of me… I cannot connect the dots. If anyone (including Brian) can walk me through an actual application, I would be eternally grateful. There are three or four live songs recorded at Larry’s Country Diner with Gene Watson and Mo Pitney… Jimmy Capps, IMNSOHO, makes each song whole. TIA.
Septuagenarian... trying to check off Bucket List items!
