Hi AMers
There is no instructional video with light bulbs but with pics from my fabulous holiday in Devon UK in May
where I also had the chance to meet up and jam with our AM member Andy.
Andy and his wife welcomed us in their house, which was very special to me and my partner. Thank you!
On our way back I made a short visit to Andertons in Guilford! In my challenge I used the track and some licks from EP608 and rhythm ideas from EP611 Funky Dorian Groove.
A milestone (rather than light bulb) for me is that I learnt to combine/mix Brian’s ideas with my own.
In this case I flavored up the G minor pentatonic with some Dorian licks/runs.
G Dorian = F major. I played Dorian in different F major patterns.Another milestone is to be able to play rhythm in different positions on the neck – thanks to Brian’s CAGED teaching.
I am looking forward to your ideas.

This sounds incredibly good, Denise and combined with the beautiful pictures is it a pleasure for the eyes and ears.
It is also my aim to combine Brian’s ideas from his lessons with my own. Maybe one day I’ll succeed as beautifully as you did here.Take the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom
The next Meetup will probably take place in July/August 2025There will be a detailed announcement here in the forum in good time.
I look forward to meet you.

Those notes flowed right off Misty’s fretboard. Excellent playing and nice blending of lead and some rhythm stabs.
Lovely pictures as well! Fun to meet up with another Am member. -

Denise,
Not your ‘go to sound’ but still very well played. Kind of had that “Robby Krieger” vibe from the Doors.
You played this very fluidly. Loved the tone (Misty is a beast) and appreciate how you venture out into a different
style/genre. Always a huge pleasure Denise. Loved everything about your presentation/arrangement. Thanks for your inspiration.John H

Wow, that Dorian scale gave the whole piece a really distinctive sound. Captivating, actually, as were the photos.
And what kind of vacation trip would it be without a visit to a fabulous looking guitar store? I’m a little jealous. -

That sounded incredible, Denise! Really great tone and professional execution, love the Dorian (funky) vibe, your ideas are just as good as Brian’s and they mix in naturally. Also excited to see Misty, such a good looking and sounding axe!
So great to see you and Andy getting together and jamming, how fun! The pictures from the trip look so nice, it must have been a blast.

Well played, Denise…..I loved that Dorian vibe! And your photos are really beautiful. The countryside and beaches remind me a lot of New Zealand.

Nice playing Denise! That Gm flavour is very hypnotic – I just went back to the lesson & will give it some more attention now – thanks for that. my son lived in Devon for many years & your film made me nostalgic. Best wishes.

So cool you got to visit with another AMer Denise. Trip looked awesome. And, way to take a Brian approach and make it your own!
