Hi, i‘m a new member of the activemelody community since last month. Since then i practiced a few of Brian‘s lessons with growing fun and now i decided to dive in and took the may challenge.
I have tried to make my own composition out of EP 411. At last i had to say it sounded highly orientated on Brian‘s composition, but i have tried. I am highly curious about getting some reactions.
At last something about me: i am 65 years old and decided to practice guitar seriously two and a half years ago, after shramming some chords in my youth. Since then i follow this way with much passion. I’m far away from my idea, how i want to play guitar, but i’m on the way to with much fun.
(I’m a German and i’m not used to write and speak in English, i hope my English is understandable)Greetings to everyone!

Bravo, damn good, Manfred and welcome to these challenges. You played pretty accurately. Stay tuned. By the way, you did your video well and the sound of your guitar is very pleasant.
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Hey Manfred, welcome to the challenges. All that I can say is that if my guitar playing was half as good as your command of English I would be twice the player that I am now. ( subtle English humour there). None the less that was a bravura debut performance. Well done!
-
May 31, 2021 at 3:58 am #255211
Hi Phil, one thing is for sure: your English is better than mine.
Thanks for your welcome and your encouraging words. And Thanks for pointing out your English humour-I like it!

Well played, Manfred. Very few people would be brave enough to post something for a monthly challenge just a month after joining. In fact, I think you are the first person to do it. Your composition was very appropriate, and your video and audio quality were just fine.

Hallo Manfred. Congratulations on yours first submission. Great job, great picking. Nice and smooth melody. Great decision to take part in the challenges from the start. Brian‘s lesson are awesome, but I really only started learning to improvise since I took part in the challenges… and as a side-benefit, we learn some English, too. 😊
