June 2, 2019 at 2:50 pm #134691
Hello ActiveMelody friends!
This is my first challenge submission and I had a hard time to be able to post it. 🙁 For some unkown reason my attemps to post in this thread didn’t work…
But if you guys are reading this its means that I finally found a way to post so let’s talk what matters… my submission. 🙂
I brought an electric guitar about a month and this is my first song that I learned on it. I used to play classical guitar with nylon strings, but I had no experience with electric guitar so learning this song was a big challenge for me. During the first week of practice I was having a hard time to do the bends and to have good definition in the notes. I also never recorded myself before and I feel that I need to do it from now on because it allowed me to find mistakes and have clear picture about how I truly play.
Actually the first time I heard myself I was disapointed because I was I was playing much worse than I tought. I played a lot of hours to accomplish this current level and Im verry happy with the progress I was able to make during this month.
The challenge gave me a lot of motivation and I know Im still making some mistakes but Im very happy to be part of AM because I feel that I found a place where I can learn and improve my guitar playing much more.
Thanks for watching and I appreciate all feedback/advices…

A really good lesson choice, I like the laid back feel the whole thing has and the way it follows the chords in places.

Alexsandre, I read your story, and it doesn’t sound like you are new to an electric guitar. Your play is very smooth. You sound good. So this is a great start! Thank you for posting.

Alexsandre, your playing and the work on the fingerboard is very fluid. It sounds good. So that’s a great start! Thank you for your submission and welcome.

Really well played, Alexandre. You did very well on the slides and bends. I heard a few bends that were not quite bent enough, but people who don’t play the guitar would never notice that. And to include some improv on your first recording is truly a sign of talent. It is as you say, once you start recording yourself – by video – your playing skills will rapidly increase.

That’s an incredible first challenge submission, Alexandre! You’re a great player and I see that you also must have hired a helper with the video 🙂 which is unusual here so it’s refreshing to watch 😉 Really well done!
