I did six takes on this. Each one I messed up a different part. In this one I messed up the end. After finally getting all the way through it I didn’t want to try again.
This is on my Yamaha Trans Acoustic guitar. It is not hooked up to an amp and I didn’t edit anything in. The effect is coming from an Actuater inside the guitar. I had the Reverb and the Chorus turned all the way up.

Nicely done, Roger. See, that’s why I don’t do many videos, the tension just builds and builds until I screw up.

I love this tune, my favorite, Roger. Reminds me of being the Middle/Southern United States. Mark Twain, the Mississippi River Boat and all that. You played it so well, and took me to there!

Very difficult lesson, I tried it too, but didn’t get familiar with it, maybe some day. But you just nailed it, easily.
Perfect, Roger!

I’m so glad you stayed with it Roger, I really enjoyed ‘Take 6’ I can’t believe the others weren’t fit for posting. I’m afraid we all get a wee bit pedantic at this point. Loved the sound from your Yamaha.

The little red button bites us all Roger. However, you still played that extremely well. Self criticism sometimes is our worst enemy. Nicely done.

Perfect start Roger! Stay tuned, this is a great lesson to practice on; also just in between. Thanks for sharing and stay healthy!
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Love that tune Roger. I’ll bet you play it perfect when your not recording yourself.

You played that really well Roger and I couldn’t hear any mistakes at the end.
Very interesting guitar as well.

You’re too hard on yourself, although we’re all like that. That was a great attempt at what I found to be a difficult lesson. But you persevered. Great sound from that Yamaha.

Roger, it is very nice! I allways screw something up and I slowly start not to care anymore. This time I wasn’t happy with my playing of the a-shape chords- a lot of bad noise.
You playing was very nice and not easy! Well done.--------------
Thanks Thomas -

Hi Roger.
If it only took you six attempts…. congratulations man. I’ve counted more than 10 and much more in many challenges.

Hey Roger,
Good job on this. I know the feeling. I try and remind myself that when I do 6 takes for one reason or another, it’s all part of the learning process. Anyway, great tune, tone and play! -

“After finally getting all the way through it I didn’t want to try again.”
Oh my — I feel exactly the same way. Doing video just adds that one extra level of complexity that seems to cause screw-ups all by itself. The good news is that you managed to get a good take video’d! Came out great sounding. They have trans guitars now (ha, ha)? Will wonders never cease. Well done, I enjoyed it.

Well played Roger. It’s that Da***ed red light. Causes all kinds of issues.
Seems you were able to overcome them for the most part and put in a nice performance. -

That was really good, Roger! I didn’t even notice any mess up at the end. Your trans-acoustic guitar sounds awesome.
I did six takes on this. Each one I messed up a different part. In this one I messed up the end. After finally getting all the way through it I didn’t want to try again.
I totally get it! My red light anxiety never goes away. What I do to minimize the amount of takes – around the third week of practice I start recording myself (audio only) when I practice. That forces me to be “on stage” like Brian had suggested and also gives me a good idea of my weak points so I can then focus on those. Ever since I started doing that, the amount of takes I do for the video has decreased dramatically.

Well played, Rodger! I just started this one a few days ago, and it is definitely a fun one. Good porch pickin’ arrangement. Love the Eric Clapton unplugged vibe. Acoustic sounds great! Well done.

That’ll do the job nicely. I agree, you gotta upload whatever you can, I find sometimes the more I retake the more mistakes I make, you get more and more stressed.
