Last month we were “boxed in” for the Phrasing challenge. We are now “shut in”. So I thought I would spend March working on a “CAGED” oriented lesson. New guitar for this month’s challenge – EPI L.P. in Koa wood.

The only mistake that you made was in the lesson number. Great performance and a tasty looking Epi.

That’s a song with lovely melody, which you played so well. Your Les Paul sounds amazing, thick and warm. Great job. Hide

Nicely done Alan. These open challenges remind me of lessons I’ve learned and forgotten. Love the melody of that tune.

Excellent playing, and superb tone coming out of that Epi. And I guess you’re right, since most of us are caged in, we should be working our CAGED positions. Or learning how to self-isolate single notes.

Well done, Alan! Just like James mentioned above, this reminded me of all the lessons I practised like a maniac, recorded, posted, and completely forgot to play them by now. Maybe it’s time revisit 😉 You played it well and oh, and congrats on your new Epiphone, too!

Some kind of animal has sneaked into your recording area. Probably just there to hear the good and soothing sounds. Nice playing and a very nice lesson. I may have to take a gander at that ep280. Very well played.

Nice choice Alan, that’s one of my all time favorites. Well played with a sort of Shadows vibe ! I am liking your new Epi LP as well, it is on my wish/GAS list. Maybe you can post a hi-res picture of it ? Hard to see the Koa in your video.

I spent a lot of time in Jan. working on cage and it really helped me understand and learn Brian’s lessons faster. Love your choice, another one screaming for lyrics. Excellent job.

Thanks Peter. I am attaching site for a gallery for this guitar. I bought it online from GC and they discounted enough to include case. Factory setup was fine for me but I’m not a professional.
