This is my first challenge. There are a couple of rough spots due to nerves, but I pressed on.

Please help me up load my video from Youtube! Thank you. I have never done this before.

Hi Michele,
From YouTube, copy the link to your video. In ActiveMelody, after your text, hit the Enter key, then paste in your video link. That should do it.
Let us know if it doesn’t work.

I posted the link. I hope I am officially in the challenge.
Thanks Doug.-

You are officially in the challenge, although it’s not a contest, just a bunch of fun. 11 more consecutive posts and you will get an ActiveMelody T-shirt (I think that’s still happening).

Yay! You did it, Michele! And I don’t mean managing to post but playing us some great blues for this month’s challenge! Did you improvise, too? I’m not very familiar with the lesson but if you did, it all sounded very cohesive, so – well done and welcome to the challenges! Hope to see you every month from now on 🙂
P.S. Just a little tip… when posting the link to your video, paste the link on its separate line (press Enter before pasting the link) so that we can see the video preview rather that having to click on the link.
EDIT: Nevermind, I see that Steve beat me to it, LOL

You are officially in!
Great first post. Your timing is good and you’ve got good control. Also nice quality recording and cool tone from your SG. Well done.
One more quick tip, if you hit the Enter key at least once after your text, so the link is on a separate line, it should insert the video directly into your post rather than just the link.
Welcome aboard and hope to see more posts.

Welcome aboard the challenge train Michele. Fantastic first entry. My nerves were and still are far worse than you show. Look forward to future posts.

Michelle,
It looks like you couldn’t wait to shut that d@#$% camera off. You did great. Some of us have been known to do dozens of takes. The longer things are going well, the more the tension builds that you’re going to flub something. It gets easier, hope to see you next month.

John,
That is funny that you say that, and I am glad that others do it also. Many times when I am recording, I will get to a part I had struggled with and play it well, then immediately after in my head I am telling my self..”Ok you just played that part pretty well, better not mess anything else up now.” And then I will flub an easy part that I never messed up before.

I thought it was nicely played and enjoyed it. Nerves always get to me also. Ive only done 3 but like others say it gets easier.

Nicely done! You actually seemed pretty relaxed. It is distracting though to have a camera on you. It took me like 30 tries to get one 1:15 minute long submission this month that still had some flubs in it. Keep it up you’re doing great!

Welcome Michelle! That was fantastic playing on that one. You mention nerves, but I would never know that you were nervous, I didn’t hear any mistakes in that. Nice to listen to.. smooth playing and great tone! Thanks for sharing and welcome to the monthly challenges.

thanks for submitting, and congrats on your “first time”. Recording is definitely stressful at first, but it really does get easier with time. That was a great debut, you nailed it, and I like your patience, leaving space between those blues licks. Great tone on that SG too. Welcome Michelle, and please post more.

Well done, my 1St post took forever to record in the end I had to submit a second post, anything that could go wrong did.
Yours seemed bright and breezy and relatively trouble free, nice sound in time with decent flow, good job all round I thought.

You were very precise and soulful. Well done.
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.
