I lost focus in the last month or so and I’m looking to get back on track. I’m an intermediate player. I can play the pentatonic scale position 1, 2, and 5. I can also play triads and caged. I’ve learned quite a few of Brian’s lessons. I know I’ve improved. I’ve been jumping from lesson to lesson lately. Learning a few bars and then moving to something else. I’m getting nowhere lately.
I got interested in 418. It is a lesson where Brian talks about the major scale. I don’t know the major scale. I went to 374 (as suggested). He has five postions of the major scale related the caged chords.
Here is my question – Should I take some time and learn the five positions of the major scale? Seems to me it is necessary. I know the major scale is involved in harmonized 3rd and 6th.
I’m also very interested in 356 – Pentatonic and caged. I’ve played a little of it.
I’m thinking learning the major scale may help me get focused again.
I would appreciate some advice.
Thanks,
