I first heard Kid Andersen play at the Utah Blues Festival last year. He was playing with Rick Estrin and the Nightcats. If you’re not familiar with Rick and his band, give them a listen. Rick is a great harp player and Kid is a fantastic guitar player. Listening to him was a huge inspiration for me to get more serious about learning how to play the blues. I spoke to Kid after the show and turns out he’s a really nice guy as well.
Anyway, here is a clip that I found on YouTube of Kid talking about how to capture Huber Sumlin’s unique tone. I got a big kick out of it and thought some of you might too – enjoy!
