Hi members,
Sadly my mother-in-law passed away and we have have been attending services and holding receptions. We are still surrounded by supportive family and friends.
I’ve got my new music room organized and pulled out my 335 to try to get that Clapton Cream era tone.
I recorded this Fri and wanted to get a better take with the two other variations I had planned but clearly I’m out of time. Hope you enjoy my short and sweet challenge response.
I look forward to seeing your submissions after the next few days.

Short and sweet but right on the money.
You dialed the right tone with my dream guitar, you and your 335 sound so good.
I think you must have been a session player in another life.

John,
Sorry to hear of your loss. Prayers to you and your family. I’m glad you got your new music room in order. The Gibson suits you well. You have some mastery over the Katana too. Like Bob said you really captured the Claptonesque vibe with your set up. Nice playing too.Be well,

So sorry to hear that news John. Our best wishes and thoughts go out to you and your family.
You had the 335 singing there though and totally captured that Clapton sound. -

Sometimes there are more important things to tend to in life than playing the guitar. But I hope performing this flawless piece of playing brightened your day a little during a dark time. It was really done well. Sounded almost like Clapton himself.

Hey John, if you are doing a short submission might as well knock it out of the park with technique and tone. Nice work! And sorry for your loss.

My condolences, John. But I‘m glad to hear you have supportive Family and friends. That‘s what it needs in such hard times.
The other thing is to get back to the things you love. And that you love music and the guitar, even shows your short video. All the best!Take the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom
The next Meetup is expected to take place in November 2025There will be a detailed announcement here in the forum in good time.

So sorry for your loss John.
This submission is so flawless, great sound and playing! If I wasn't making mistakes I wouldn't be the kind of player I want to be. Perfection is dangerous.

Oh man, I love the sound of that 335. Good idea, well played! My mother-in-law turned 100 in March, and she lives in Florida in her own house. We were booked to fly there for her birthday party, but my cancer diagnosis and surgeries made us cancel our plans. I have a gap between chemo treatments in August, so we just re-scheduled to spend 2 weeks with her. She could pass away at any time, so we may be dealing with a funeral and other arrangements just like you.
