Heya folks,
Well it’s basically been a year since i started on guitar and i think i’m in a really good place with it. Progress seems to be on an upward trajectory and i have a good idea of areas i need to improve on. Best of all i look forward to playing everyday and am spending more and more time doing it.
So anyways here’s my shot at improv. I haven’t done that much of this type of playing but it’s definitely something I want to master. Rather than just noodling around on the scales I decided to dedicate the month to learning the arpeggios for the chords in the track and am using those as target notes with a bit of the scale thrown in. It works! Even though my playing isn’t that great the thing sounds melodic despite being played off the cuff. I also threw in a few single notes on the slide, add in some delay and you get a good ambient ‘vocal’ type sound (bit like a whale song lol) which adds a bit of texture and interest
