This was probably the quickest video I’ve made to date. I had planned to run through the EP290 lesson then move into improvising, but I made a mistake early on and just kept rolling with it.
EP311 and EP312 were light bulbs for me and I worked a lot on moving between the minor and major pentatonic with my improvisation this month. If you haven’t done these lessons I highly recommend. I tried to incorporate this in today’s post. I think I heard one note that didn’t fit and I’m not sure why.
I’m also showing off a new acquisition. I picked up a used Bugera G5 head to match the Bugera 1×12 cabinet I bought last month. This amp is basically a lower cost clone of the Blackstar HT-5R with a few Bugera specific additions. This has a similar very warm tone to the V5 I’ve had, but adds an overdrive channel and several other nice features. I recorded this using the 4×12 emulated output straight to my AudioBox. I did upgrade the stock Bugera preamp tube to a JJ 12AX7. Really happy with the sound.
Hope you enjoy and always looking for pointers from the group.
