I laid down a rhythm guitar track and a bass track first and then improvised “In the By and By” on top of that. Hope you like it. Here’s the link:

I’m listening to this at about 5.00 pm at the end of a pretty hot, sunny day here in the U.K. ( one of the three per year that we’re allowed here) and my wife is just about to knock up some weird cocktail for me to roadtest and that rendition was kind of relaxing and has got me into a nice, mellow mood. Thank you JiminFla!

Thank you for your kind words. I hope that the cocktail lived up to your expectations. We are waiting for a hurricane to arrive and are pretty well stocked with wine to last us. If all else fails we will have to drink the bottle of champagne that has been sitting in the fridge since Christmas.

Jim,
Nice arrangement, and I really like the solo you made up with the Strat on the bridge pickup. Nice tone there.

Really well played Jim. Very laid back version with you under complete control! Great knowledge and mastery of the fingerboard and keeping true to the overall feel of the tune. Loved the sound also you chose for your Fender. All the best!

Jimin, every second was a pleasure. Great harmony in your playing.
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Nice job on both tracks Jim, you sounded great. I like that you improvised around the melody line, giving it your own style. Great job, thanks for sharing

Nice job Jim. I think adding a little vibrato to your notes would take your fretting to the next level – you obviously know your way around the neck.
