I thought I would ask a question about two guitar players whos styles are 180 degrees different, but both can flat wail in a heart beat.
Jerry Garcia not only plays guitar, (electric and acoustic), but also plays Pedal Steel Guitar, and I believe Scruggs style finger picking on the 5-String banjo as well. Having his 2nd finger missing didn’t stop him. Alot of the Grateful Dead material in the early days of the 1960’s were remakes of old Jug Band, Blues and Blue Grass tunes. What kind of scales does Jerry use???? They sound off, like a minor or something. It is kind of catchy too.
Ritchie Blackmore who tore it up in Deep Purple, Rainbow, and now plays acoustic Celtic guitar is another one of a kind player. Is it true Blackmore played only major type scales????? A classic tune I really like is called No One Came from the album Fireball. Man he has a certain phrasing style. If any of you have heard his new music, its way different now. Its like Celtic/ Classical finger picking. It is very hard material to do.
Any info on these two players??????…………………fresnojohns
