All right,
I used the lesson from EP601, harmonies on the 2nd and 4th strings. Turned out to be one of my favorite all time lessons. It really opened up the fretboard in terms of ‘seeing’ what you’re playing. If you know what I mean. A lot of phrases that I have heard for years but never knew how to play them to get that sound. So, playing around with these I stumbled into an all time favorite, which I try to play here. Hope you like it.

I think it’s really enlightening to open up the box on all the harmonies that just the two notes can imply. I also learned a lot by analyzing that.
Good stuff Bruce! -

Sounds like an old jazz number that I can’t put a name on.
Take five maybe.
Well done Bruce.AndréM

Hi Bruce, I don’t know that tune, it sounds a bit familiar, but those harmonies really outline the changes well. That comes through clearly. I enjoyed it!

Hi Bruce , it’s interesting how those harmonies can be implemented on their own to follow the changes. Your standalone piece is a good example of that .
Well played .Martin

Just shows how versatile these sixths are in implying chords. Nice idea, Bruce.

Nicely played Bruce. I always enjoy seeing your mighty fine hats too!

Hey Bruce, I just mentioned to Sunjamr that his piece sounded a little like “All Blues”. A few submissions later you’re playing it. I bet Miles would have appreciated your creativity, playing it in sixths. And he’d probably admire your hat as well. 😀

Nice one Bruce, played cleanly and rhythmically, and also strictly to the brief. Well done.

Well played Bruce. How did you keep the timing consistent – were you playing to a metronome? I thought maybe I could hear one faintly in the background. For my post, I used (for the first time) Apple Airpods Pro to feed a metronome beat into my ears while I played. You can’t hear it, but I could.

Just lucky on the timing. I lost it a couple of times. You must have heard my foot tapping . . .
Thanks, Steve

A very valid and original All Blues rendition, Bruce!
Your harmonies sound perfect and outline the chords well enough for the listener’s ear to recognize the melody.🎸JoLa

Nice ideas that really conquered my ears Bruce, well done!

Well done, Bruce. I agree: this concepts of harmonies on two strings really opened up my eyes – a lot of light bulbs went up. Cool idea to demonstrate this concept with “All Blues”. 👍🏽

Hey Bruce,
Well done. I like the dynamics, bending staccato, slides, vibrato, syncopation, major/minor shifts etc. Nice and creative!
Cheers.

It‘s really fun to watch and listen to you, exploring the fretboard with the harmonies, Bruce. You show very impressive, how you can use this concept for lead lines, but also are able to get a rhythm quality. You are able to hear every chord change in your playing.

Great rendition of this tune, Bruce. It took me a while to figure out where I’ve heard it before. What a fun classic to play.
