Hello everyone, going through the lessons I realized that I hadn’t tried anything from the jazz category yet so I went with EP063. I really enjoy this laidback feel good progression and its great fun practising improv with. Looking forward to listening to all the submissions.

As usual,you make every groove come off so natural, like you’ve been playing it forever. Really enjoyed your country-like Jazz stylings. The lead playing was exceptional. Sounding awesome! I had to listen to it twice.
Bravo! 5 Guitars

That was so good! You were really into it and feeling it. I don’t want to come off sounding too goofy here, but music is a spiritual thing, and you definitely captured that spirit.
Technically, your index finger vibrato, on an acoustic no less, is very good.
You are sounding great as usual.
Have you done any western swing on that Gibson? I think you would be good at that as well.
Really enjoyed it Scott. -

Scott,
Very well done! You’re playing is really enjoyable. Even though Jazz is not my favorite style of music, you made this lesson a pleasure to listen to.

Your playing is taking on a really professional quality, Scott. Great ear on your lead, everything was very melodic and seemed to follow the changes.

Wow Scott! That was professional playing to my ear. You really were one with the music on this one. Hard to do on an acoustic.

So good, Scotty! I like your originals very much. They are not as jazzy as the core, but fit in perfectly. Your playing is as flawless as ever. Very nice!

Scott,
I think you can play anything on that acoustic of yours and you made it look easy although we all know it’s not!
Great!

Great job Scott. I really enjoyed listening to you play that. Your playing has a really good feel to it and the improvs were really good. Right after I listened to yours I searched Brian’s lesson and listened to that one. Looks like another one on my list that I want to try. So many lessons so little time!

Well well well, Scott… I consider your submission always as one of my favourites, and this one is a real price winner also.
I would love to hear you play this one on an electric guitar with a fat, darkbrown neck pick up sound. So if you can find time…
Regards,
Patrick

Hey Scott, that was really well done. I learned that lesson pretty well, but I never could come up with any decent improv. You, on the other hand, came up with some really nice improv that fitted in perfectly with the spirit of the lesson. You are now the official jazz improv maestro.

That’s to realize that you enjoy it. That in a bar with a beer and everything would be fine.
I could hear it for hours. Well done. As always.Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Two things:
– Perfect timing;
– Perfect technique;
– Perfect punch;
– Perfect sound;
Ooops, it was more than two things… anyway you got my point 🙂 -

Out of sight, Scott! That major pentatonic improv was so tasty. So much mileage out of just those few notes in the pattern 1 below the A shaped E chord. You are merging into composing now, I see!
Superduper!!

Well it sounds like the audience approves, Scott….As well we should. Great effort. The nice thing about your improv is that it emulated singing…I’m guessing you could put words to what you played and you’d wind up with reproducible song.
You really did an exceptional job on this, Scott. Bravo!Marty

I’ve got that lesson on my stand right now, and I really like the way you have dealt with it, especially your improvisation. You have a really nice melodic sense that shines through this. Well done.
