Been working on this tricky melodic Jerry Garcia style piece for a while – it’s getting there. I love this style and hope Brian creates more like this.

David,
You are clearly a polished player. The first bunch of notes sound like the lead in to Merle Haggard’s ‘Rambin Fever’ Nice tone and precise playing.

Well done, David! This is one of my favorite lessons. Your playing is so smooth and loved the extra stuff you added to it there at times. Fantastic! You were jammin’ for sure.

Yes David, this is kind of tricky although it does not seem so. You did well and flawless.

David,
Great job… your notes flow flawlessly like Jerry’s. And, you look to be enjoying yourself. There are a few other Jerry Garcia style lessons on Brian’s site. Look under Artist, there might be some Allman Brother stuff that resembles the style as well.John

Impeccable David, you’ve got everything under control and added something. Well done.
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Nice one, David. That’s one of my favorites. I had to slow down the jamtrack to about 80% and play it over and over until I could reach 100%. If you want some more stuff to add to it, listen to the solo from Allman Brothers “Blue Sky”. It fits perfectly, so I added it in for one of the earlier challenges. BTW, lately I’ve been listening to a lot of the Grateful Dead stuff on Youtube and analyzing Jerry Garcia’s playing to try to understand exactly what is his style. So far I’m finding it hard to pin down.

Thanks for all the great feedback guys! I haven’t found a way to reply to individual posts so thanks to everyone, it’s really appreciated. Steve Sunjamr thanks for the Allman Bros suggestion I’ll check it out, plus take a look at this teacher learning Gerry Garcia lead on Morning Dew https://youtu.be/Lcd4tsY9WZo
JohnStrat – yes, I’m a paragliding pilot currently flying in Tenerife when I’m not twanging my guitar.

Paragliding in the Canaries sounds wonderful. I used to microlight along the Algarve coast long before it was ever regulated. It was superb fun. -
