I’ve not had much guitar time of late and I did run over ep041 about a month or so back as a refresher but didn’t get any further with it. So was strange today to have it playing over and over in my head..
Nothing else for it no matter how unpolished it may be I had to get it recorded( I think I recorded this before about a year or more ago)So tonight after work and I had 5mins to myself, I became responsible for this …..Billy..

Hey Billy,
That was good! You may not have played much but the muscle memory must have kicked in and the fingers knew where to go….was that the Goose you were playing? By the way, how’s that project going with that guitar that you were working on?

Hi Tim, thanks for the words man..No, My Classic Vibe this time round. It sounds a bit tinny tbh but I couldnt find my BD2.
The les paul styled thing?, not had much time with that either though I did make a bone nut for it at one point and then changed that for a tusq nut. I still have to look at the internals, was thinking of just binning everything that is in there along with the pickups and starting from scratch...Billy..

Sounds great Billy, you are definitely advancing in the blues feel..it takes many years to get a lot of folks playing as good as you did here so keep enjoying this stuff! btw,, leave room for practicing blue grass style too,, learn a bit of everything when you get the time! 284 looks like something I haven’t done in quite some time,, it is my next lesson,,, learned a lot here from Brian before you joined you know! lol

You said your brother plays guitar. This one here Billy, I bet your brother’s playing brings back some good memories. The timing and feeling of the notes were well expressed. A very nice job of expressing yourself on this one.
The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

Thanks John and Pete for taking the time to listen and comment, I just had a listen to my playing and it all sounds a bit rushed, I may visit this one again at a touch slower pace of play..

Billy, I think you conquered this earworm pretty darn good. I listened to it twice and what I noticed was very good timing, accurate bendings and even attack on the strings. No „rushing“ that I could detect. You should keep that in your repertoire.

That is a good idea, I don’t really have a “repertoire” of lessons that I have attempted in the past… thanks for taking the time to listen and comment.

Billy you got the nuances of the blues in this ballad coming through loud and clear. Remeber when you almost threw the towel in; and now look what you are able to put out. Its really nice to hear and so good that your ‘getting it’ right on.

JohnStratOh, yeah that’s going back a bit now John. Was very frustrated back then with what I thought was my lack of progress, I was measuring my progress against the level of others which now I see was the wrong thing to do. It was all you guys and girls that gave the encouragement to continue and I’m grateful for that..
Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment on my playing...Billy..

Nice one, Billy. Well played. That lesson used to be in my “Repertoire of 20” but it fell off the list to make room for new lessons. It was good to hear it again.

very cool, billy. Slow, relaxed, good bends and vibrato. It isn’t the number of notes, it’s the emotion that’s conveyed, and you expressed a lot of feeling here. Well done.

wow Billy! Very nice indeed! I have that happen to me all the time, I struggle with a part, then walk away from only to be able to actually do it a few days later.. That is just how it works.. lol
loving that amp man.. mine is on order.. hehehe can’t wait..
Don't practice till you get it right, practice till you can't get it wrong.

Thanks for taking time out to listen and comment Steve, Roger and Gene, I keep promising myself that I will set aside some time each night to practise, I just can’t get that to work.
Yes Gene, well spotted that it’s through my thr10c, I did want to add my BD-2 but as usual I didn’t find the pedal until after I had recorded and posted..Hopefully you thr10c is delivered soon...Billy..

I think that’s exactly your thing Billy. That was pure blues; something to enjoy. Very cool!
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Thank you Wilfred, My guitars sound came out all wrong, she sounds harsh and tinny so something that I have to work on for when I showcase again.
Thanks again for taking time to listen and comment on my showcase...Billy..

Hi Billy,
Just discovered your posting. This is really nice: I enjoyed listening to it: very well-played. I love these BB King style lessons: it is on my ‘list’ of lessons that I keep re-visiting. You’re inspiring me to go back to this one, and maybe even do it for the December open challenge…
Keep up the great work, my friend! Can’t wait to hear more from you.
Cheers,
Rich F.

Hi Rich, thanks very much for taking the time to listen and comment on my playing, that’s a big compliment if my playing has inspired someone to do their own rendition of the lesson.
I’ve not had much of a chance to view many of the Nov challenge responses as yet but as always I look forward to your challenge responses..
I’ll certainly look out for your posting in Jan ....Billy..
