I checked out the how to video but my settings are not playing ball.

First I don’t get a web cam option only the upload option.

I select a photo on my Mac and yes I see the photo with the little select box.
I do a little stretch or even if I don’t, I see the pic displayed in the circle to the right.

But what do I do to transfer the preferred image up into the circle for my profile page?
If I hit enter, the system just wipes my pic and I am back at the beginning.

Attached below is the profile pic planned on using.

    Some suggestions would be helpful.

    Thanks Mal

      Mal,
The resolution of the photo may be too high. There are free jpg resizing programs available on the internet that don’t require a download.

      Hi John

      Thanks for your thoughts.

I actually have photoshop and tried the pic in various resolutions, right down until it said the image was not large enough. So I scratched my bald head and thought, lets ask someone who knows the system.

      Thanks for your response.

While your there, can you send personal messages to a specific member like I can on another forum (not music related) I frequent cameras actually)?

Welcome Mal! If you want to send a personal message, you need to “friend” the person. This prevents spam to some extent. This step was added in response to many people getting many unwanted messages.

I don’t know about uploading the images. I haven’t done it in a long time.

      Hi Billy

Yes it is a JPG image and about 400×400 px, so not so big.

Just looking for how to transfer the image to my profile. The image seems to upload but then I maybe need to insert it using a command I don’t know.

I’m thinking the pic size is 200×200 or 150×150 Mal, those seem to be the numbers floating around in my head, tbh it’s been quite a long time since I installed a profile picture, hopefully one of those sizes will be the correct one to use.

Hi Don D, I checked out your sound cloud, that’s a sky full of clouds, wow you have been busy and really great playing.

hanks for the friend request, nice to find out more about the music you are playing, which I probably would not have tripped over.

      Have a great Play

Hi Mal, thank you for the kind words! That’s about 3 years of music.

Our conversation just made me realize that one of the things I should mention to new people is if you want to communicate with anyone by private message, you need to to be friends.

You mentioned maybe getting an f hole jazz-type guitar. I got one with flat-wound strings and I’ve never had a guitar that was easier to play—I know I play more than if I didn’t have a guitar I love so much. Mine is a 2014 Guild Savoy built using vintage materials and parts. For all that it wasn’t anywhere near as expensive as a Gibson (what I’d really like).

Don D, I am looking at a hollow body “F” hole guitar but just trying to sort out the details re the instrument.

Glad to hear you are happy with yours.

      Mal

Here is a little clip of the guitar I am looking at. It is not me playing the guitar. Any comments most welcome.

Hey! That is a beauty. Hope you nail one.

when you sing from the heart, it requires only a guitar. M. Shihab Uddin

Playing music on the guitar is like sculpturing your soul with musical notes. πŸ™‚ 6 stringerPete

The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . πŸ™‚ 6stringerPete

It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. πŸ™‚ Pete
