For all of you here that have downloaded the Jim Hendrix lesson, have any of you ever heard much of Robin Trower? I may be dating myself showing my age, (LOLOLOL) but if you enjoyed the Hendrix lesson you will enjoy what Robin Trower has to offer. Many have said he is trying to be another Hendrix. His playing is based on the pentatonic type scales, but he plays alot of leads in odd positions. His live playing is usually a half step down, but on Bridge of Sighs which is half live and studio on the cd is also in standard tuning.
Must be because it is taken from an old lp. Anyway he does some cool fills and some odd chords that sound killer.
Maybe it could be a good lesson.

Yea Robin is up there as one of my fave guitarists to listen to, the opening riffs on Day of the Eagle, still gets me. As with Jimi i really like Trowers fills.
I too love the opening riff on Day of the Eagle. It is cool. Also Too Rolling Stoned and one of my faves Lady Love.
When you hear Hendrix and Trower you can also hear ZZ Top do that rythum riff type playing too. Its really tasty.
