Hi all, just checking in for the first time.
I’ve been playing on and off for years, but in a very unstructured way so I never got past just playing a few chords. Reaching a significant birthday has inspired me to try and learn properly and I spotted Brian’s lessons on YouTube which looked pretty good.
I have bought a Squier Tele (CV 50s) and a Zoom G3 for headphone practice and I am working my way through the beginners course as a refresher of basic chords and techniques. (I’d forgotten how hard it is with no fingertip calluses!)
Funky bluesy/rocky rhythm guitar and mixing rhythm+lead are my favourite things, so there’s plenty to learn on the site already.
PS: anyone looking for a good home practice solution should have a look at the Zoom G3. It sounds very convincing through headphones or a HiFi and also acts as a USB audio interface so it’s really simple to play along to lessons and tracks from a pc. (or record yourself playing using audacity or other audio recording progs)
