  Most of us post to YouTube so instead of imbedding a recording file you are posting a link. Or Soundcloud is an option too.

  Yes Robert, as Alan has said, when we upload a video to YouTube which can be easily 200 Mb or more, in file size, YouTube’s codecs (compressor/decompressor) reduces or compresses that file to a manageable size that websites like ActiveMelody can accommodate when you upload to them.
