I’m fom Edmonton Alberta Canada but I spend a few months each year in Phoenix AZ. If you’ve ever experienced an Edmonton winter, you can understand that.
Last year, my wife and I decided to take a side trip to Nashville for a few days, largely inspired by my obcession, not to be confused with ability, for guitar.
I fell in love with Nashville … the food, the sights, the history … but mostly the music …
We stayed in a motel halfway between the airport and downtown and my morning ritual includes a good cup of coffee and (apologetically) a smoke.
On our last morning, I was indulging my addiction outside and was soon joined by an equally afflicted senior around the same age. We started comparing our Nashville experience which soon evolved into our mutual guitar obsession which further evolved into our mutual music influences.
That’s when Active Melody came up. That’s when this stranger and I became simpatico.
We spent the next hour(s) discussing our favourite EP#s. He was particularly focused on one I was familiar with that he said brought tears to his eyes when he played it. I totally related to that …
We could have gone on for hours and hours and surely would have if our guitars had been handy but almost simultaneously, our partners hunted us down and dragged us, metaphorically by the ears, to our respective suites.
As much as I loved Nashville, my fondest memory of that trip was meeting somebody else that shared the Active Melody experience …
I hope he reads this and responds … or anybody else in Alberta …
