Good one, Dude! You made the slapfret work out nicely, and put your own stamp on it. Otis would have liked it.

Nice, Dude. You definitely put your high energy and unique style on that one. My knuckles would be bleeding after that workout.
      Next performance, “Under the Bridge”.

Thanks John. I’ll keep that in mind for my next arrangement. That’s one of my favorite guitarists for sure. I was just the right age to be around when all that was coming out too, RHCP that is. Cheers mate.

I envy how easy you made slapping look. I’ll have to keep working on that.
      A great tune, well played

It’s just a matter of practice, like anything else. So awkward at first, and for many weeks afterwards. Then it slowly morphs into something usable. Now I’m trying to work a palm hit mimicking a bass drum and it’s twice as awkward but eventually it’ll come about. Cheers :v

Thanks! It’s just a shirt I have that fits well, which always disappoints phillies fans. Enjoy those outdoors :v

Picking by the Dude on the bay!
Nice arrangement and percussive technique. Slapping those strings silly. 😜

I’m obsessed with the percussive aspect of the guitar these days. Makes playing a lot easier to get into. Cheers :v

      Fantastic playing and performance Dude.

That’s a great song and playing it like that means you don’t need a vocalist.

Have you always used that technique or did you begin your guitar journey with a pick?

I tried to do a cover of “more than words” and just could not get the slap and chunk down for it……

My friend you just gotta keep trying and keep it very simple. My percussive slap was so awkward for maybe a full year. And yes, I was all-pick for probably a decade then slowly migrated towards all-fingerstyle. I haven’t touched a pick in yrs now that I think about it. Keep at it if you want to be better, it’ll come around eventually. Thanks for watching :v

Well played, enviable finger-picking style… highly entertaining. Is that the Delaware River?

Hey my friend, the style really isn’t as hard as looks, just sticking with one thing for a few months. Which is anything, right? And no, I’m off the St. John’s river in Jacksonville FL, about 10 miles from the Atlantic :v cheers

Wow, great job Dude! This is a perfect song for mixing in some sweet soulful licks while keeping the groove going with the percussive elements. Nicely done.

Nicely played and nice spot. Wish I could be playing outside but the weather isn’t too cooperative at this time of year here in Vancouver.

Thanks :v I’ll have to check out who that is. The slapping gets really natural after just a few months of practicing. It’s exciting! :v
