Ok, I rarely play my acoustic – until now! Lights (and many other fellow AM friends) have motivated me to get my Alvarez out and play. So Brian’s amazing “On The Porch” style lesson EP368 was a perfect reason to put down my Tele for a few songs! Thanks for listening

Thank you Denise! It is fun to “step outside” of my comfort zone! Look for more Alvarez in the future.

Nice playing Bob. I know what you mean about how fun it is to play new stuff outside your comfort zone. For me it just adds to the joys of playing the guitar.

Well played Bob, after that I suggest you throw all your electrics away and concentrate on those ‘real blues’ guitars, great stuff.

Hey Bob,
Those acoustics are a handful for a Tele guy but you rose to the challenge. Nice performance and of course still looking forward to more Tele stuff:-)

Great playing Bob, played with a nice bluesy feel. I have the same problem of not playing acoustic often enough.

Hey Denise, Tom, Richard, Clarke, Rob & Andre,
Thank you for the feedback! I have an idea now for July thanks to “Yinz” (y’all, you guys & gals) and this amazing AM community! Happy Sunday to all and I look forward to hearing more submissions from everyone. Bob

JoLa!
Did my MAMA tell you to say such kind things about my rookie acoustic skills??? It’s so funny how one guitar in your hands can feel like THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE and then the next six-stringed thang can feel like you are playing a didgerido or a double bassoon!! LOL. I need to expand my playing style and all Yinz and Brian/AM are helping me to “take the plunge” from my comfort zone of The Blues and soloing on my Tele! Thank you! Bobby UtBob U. (aka Bobby Ut)

Nice one, Bob. I probably play electric and acoustic in a ratio of 70% to 30%. What I find is that if I play my acoustic daily for a week or so, my left-hand fingertips get a lot tougher. So if you want to keep your fingertips strong, that’s probably a better option than the karate method of plunging them into a bucket of damp sand for 15 minutes a day.

But it sounded like you were right in there in the comfort zone. Nice playing, Bob, you are an accomplished guitar player. I personally reach for my acoustic first when I come home, but that doesn’t mean I could do without my electrics. e’s allow for more freedom of expression with their lesser string tension, but acoustics’ sound appeals more to me. Anyway, good to see you dusting off your Alvarez. Enjoyed it!

The “smile” the playing, you nailed. “guitar heaven” play’n there.
The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

Thank you everyone! Monday am in the Tooth Shop: So much great music to play and just not enough time to really dive in. However, I’m glad to be back at work with all this crazy COVID stuff! I look forward to everyone’s July Surprise with In The Sweet By and By. Bye for now, Bob

There’s 106 miles to Chicago, we’ve got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark out, and we’re wearing sunglasses. I’ll be ready Phil. I’ll be Ellwood, you be Jake?
