Has anyone been able to play one of these? I have looked at the Taylor T5, Godin A6 Ultra and now this one. Going by youtube vids alone it sounds by far the best to me.
Just don’t think I can justify the $2000 though.

Hi Cobalt. Not sure if you read this as you said you would take a break from AM for a while. But anyway, I spent seven hours in a guitar store today (Europe‘s largest, as they claim. I must’ve played 100 guitars) and they had the Fender Acoustasonic. Sure enough I played it and I was pleasantly surprised. Or perhaps impressed is a better word. It‘s light and feels and plays like a charm. I was surprised how loud it was without an amp. Somewhere between a small acoustic an a semi-hollow unplugged. But a full nice sound nonetheless. Priced at € 1.800,
it is going to be interesting how well it will be received.-

I would like to play one myself. I see a lot of positive things online about them and then you have the naysayers. I think most people though think they are priced a bit high though, even the people who really like them. I’m pretty sure they are not that impressive unplugged but most likely they were not built to be anyway. Probably fill a nice need for people who gig and so some songs on acoustic and some one electric and don’t want to pack a lot of gear around. All that being said for the most part they are getting positive reviews.

Pretty sure that it was Ivan that plans to take a break from AM
Tom, you are probably correct that they won’t sound all that good unplugged. I’ve heard performers using the Taylor and they sound really good – the true test would be to play the 2 side by side and hear the difference

I have checked out those Taylors and seen a few people play them and they are nice. They have one under $2000 I think and the rest of them are quite a bit more. I have also looked at the Godin A6 Ultra which some people call the poor man’s Taylor. I have always loved Taylor guitars!
