The backing track Brian created for this month’s challenge really struck me as a lullaby.
So I am entitling this little melody “Brian’s Lullaby,” to give credit where credit is due. The track was very pretty and deserved a treatment that leaned toward the soft side..

I always enjoy your approach to these challenges, Paul. Beautiful tone with the Martin and I’m a sucker for those double stops.

You created some lovely harmonies with the double stops, Paul. It obviously did the trick for your cats but I was too interested in what you were playing. Really enjoyable and relaxing.

I read your very nice comment in my post and yeah, Paul, we think a lot alike musically! Loved very much your composition, in the same delicate acoustic style of mine but very different at the same time: liked especially how brilliantly you mixed harmonized thirds or chords with very nice melodic licks, for a seamless piece of music that catch the listener’s ear in a very enjoyable way.
Loved also your very nice furry creatures in the pictures!Guido

Hey Paul, nice melody lines. I like the subtle harmonization you used….incorporating last months challenge idea. Nice bass runs especially at the end. Love the Martin, it has a sweet sound. Cheers. Pap

What a beautiful lullaby!! I love the sweet melody you have created, it goes so well with Brian’s track. Oh, and these wonderful double stops and harmonies. I also love that tension and the bass lines at the end.
Great full sound from your Martin.Cat Tobee enjoyed your lullaby. He’s having sweet dreams.
Paul, that is a real masterpiece. You are so musical.
Bravo.

It’s so atmospheric, Paul. That’s because it’s simply a beautiful melody and of course also because of how beautifully you play it. Listening to it made me think of “She’s Leaving Home” by the Beatles.
So now I’m getting really tired and have to go to bed. (It’s already past 10pm here) Good night!Take the chance to meet your AM friends on Zoom
The next Meetup will be on March 29, 2025For more information click here
I look forward to meet you.

Very nicely played Paul. Very light and melodic, and fit the mood of the backing track very well. You did turn it into a lullaby. Good job.

Hi Paul, really nice on this one. I was hearing something Beatle-esque in your melody. I think it was the tone and the IV, IV minor cadence. I enjoyed it a lot!

That was seriously creative, Paul. A lot of unique licks in there, and played to perfection. Great sounding acoustic as well.

I could swear I just heard a Beatles song, the composition was just perfect! Beautifully executed on your Martin, Paul – with a nice flow and a gorgeous melody, totally loved it! Very fitting for a lullaby indeed, especially when having all those cute snoozers around!

The choice of harmonizations was so cool for this backing track Paul. And they contributed to the lullaby atmosphere, nice one!
If I wasn't making mistakes I wouldn't be the kind of player I want to be. Perfection is dangerous.
It's all about taking risks, sometimes you get to some place, sometimes you get to a different place. (Brian May) -

Wowza Paul!! One of your bestest ever!!! That run at the beginning set the stage. Then the harmony slides were so tasty. Super job!!!

Your soft approach hit the spot Paul, lovely melody, lots of space to let us appreciate it and cool harmonies to decorate it. Fabulous!
If reincarnation is a thing, I seriously hope I can come back as a cat!

Brian’s Lullaby – perfectly named. You played with such confidence. Lovely note selection and cleanly played as a whistle.
