I picked up a moderately priced 12-string guitar with the idea of experimenting with 12-string slide playing. This probably had something to do with seeing a Leo Kottke show recently at the Boulder Theater. I decided on this Orangewood guitar over a similarly priced Chinese made Takamine and am happy with what I got. I raised the action with a shim under the saddle, switched out the strings for some heavier gauge and tuned it down to Open C#. So far I am having a lot of fun with it. I’m able to play the same songs I’ve been playing in open tunings but now I get extra stuff from the octave strings. – Bret
