I’m looking at a used Epiphone. It looks like a Les Paul, but doesn’t say Les Paul on the head. (all the Les Paul buttons and switches are there) It is an arch top, bolt on neck. The head says Epiphone across the top of the head and right above the nut (and running perpendicular to the nut) it says Gibson. There is a sticker on the back of the head that says that the guitar was made in America and the plate on the back (at the neck) says “Epiphone” and has a serial number. It has trapezoid inlays on the fret board and is a vintage sunburst pattern. The trapezoid inlays make me believe that it’s not a LP 100. The arched top also doesn’t look like one of the lower grade knockoffs, yet it has the bolt on neck. I’m also a llittle confused that it doesn’t carry the “Les Paul” brand. It is obviously a “Les Paul” type of guitar and it’s made by Epiphone (unless it’s a fake!) It even carries the “Gibson” brand. Anyone got any ideas about what it might be?
