Here’s our common project on Brian’s beautiful duet lesson. It was fun, we both enjoyed it.
JoLa, thank you for your awsome cooperation and for doing the video editing.
PS: Due to the time difference between Las Vegas and Switzerland, the lead is a bit ahead of the rhythm, lol.

November 24, 2020 at 3:05 pm #220378charjoParticipant
Exactly what the world needs, more collaboration. Awesome playing, both of you.
November 24, 2020 at 3:06 pm #220379James BParticipant
Well played ladies. Love that percussive rhythm JoLa and Denise’s leads sound so good on that beautiful guitar.
November 24, 2020 at 3:20 pm #220380JFLParticipant
Very cool collaboration! What a good idea. It’s nice to see people playing together. Good job you two !
November 24, 2020 at 3:44 pm #220384LightsParticipant
Girls, this is awesome!! Beautiful lesson reminds me always the mix from Supertramp and Tommy Emmanuel. Nice performance, ladies.
November 24, 2020 at 4:02 pm #220389ClarkeParticipant
Congratulations Ladies on a nice performance. Visuals – tone – playing, just really impressive.
November 24, 2020 at 5:45 pm #220398AndréMParticipant
JoLa and Denise, great collaboration.
Excellent playing both of you.
We want more.
November 24, 2020 at 5:53 pm #220399Livio MParticipant
Well done ! beautiful collaboration and good results.
November 24, 2020 at 5:55 pm #220400Fred McCoyParticipant
Impressive. I assume you recorded JoLa’s rhythm then Denise tracked the lead while listening to JoLa’s part, then JoLa mixed it ??? Or did you do this in real time together? Real nice job all around. JoLa, I’m working on that right hand percussion but for me it’s like chewing gum and walking – going to need some work. Does Brain have any videos addressing right hand percussion? Keep up the good work.
November 24, 2020 at 6:24 pm #220402JoLaParticipant
I assume you recorded JoLa’s rhythm then Denise tracked the lead while listening to JoLa’s part, then JoLa mixed it ?
You got it, Fred, we did exactly that 🙂
Does Brain have any videos addressing right hand percussion?
He sure does! My all time favorite is EP187 but you also have EP283, EP332, EP372, and the one we did with Denise here, EP353. The percussive technique seems so hard at first but then once you get it, it becomes automatic, like riding a bicycle! Brian explains the technique in EP353 pretty well.
November 24, 2020 at 6:35 pm #220403GarryParticipant
Absolutely fantastic JoLa and Denise. This is what it’s ultimately about, playing music together. You’ve both chosen a beautiful lesson for your first of hopefully many more duets to come. I hope this inspires others to collaborate together (Craig and Andre, the Yinzer Crew etc). Great playing. All the best!
November 24, 2020 at 7:32 pm #220410Alan KParticipant
Great collaboration Jola and Denise. Very nice production.
November 24, 2020 at 8:51 pm #220412sunjamrParticipant
Excellent job in all respects. I wonder if it would be possible for you to trade off so that Jola plays the rhythm for a while, then Denise plays the rhythm for a while. In other words, so each of you could have a turn at the solo part.
November 24, 2020 at 11:53 pm #220414DieterParticipant
Wonderful soulful playing.
November 25, 2020 at 3:11 am #220415WBluesParticipant
Hopefully this is just the beginning, ladies! You showed a great teamwork; very harmonious and soulful.
You are in a really good mood!
You operated this track the way it should be operated.
Big thumbs up!
November 25, 2020 at 4:04 am #220423Richard GParticipant
Congratulations to you both for a beautiful duet, I loved it. It came as a welcome distraction on this wet and wintery morning in the U.K.

Sounding real good there ladies!! Have a nice Thanksgiving Holiday!!……..Sal
November 25, 2020 at 1:32 pm #220458Bob UtbergParticipant
JoLa & Denise! Denise & JoLa! I so agree with John: The 3rd Rock from da sun needs way more of this musical togetherness! Yinz rocked it!!! I love Denise’s comment about how she was “slightly ahead” on some parts because of your 9 hour time difference! LOL!! I didn’t notice it. Beautiful arrangement you two! We all here at AM need to take your lead and do more of this – especially in this COVID WORLD! JoLa, your rhythm was ROCK SOLID! That percussive playing is so solid! And on one of your 35 favorite gitfiddles, right??? Very impressive playing for sure! Denise, your playing – especially lead – has progressed tremendously since May! Your bends and slides have come such a long way! And James is right – that gitfiddle is beautiful!! Can we please see more of da J & D Team????
Happy Thanksgiving! Bobby Ut
P.S. Like Steve said, would love to see Yinz “trade twos or fours”. Take turns on rhythm and lead.
Again, this is wonderful to see AM peeps team together and make incredible music!!!

Very well performed and produced! I got an quick appreciation for how difficult the process was when I decided to do double guitars for the November challenge. If you ever need a drum track for a ‘metronome’ let me know. I started playing drums over 50 years ago.
A perfectvision is when 2020 is hindsight!
November 25, 2020 at 4:00 pm #220477Guido Clericus VagansParticipant
Very nice, ladies! Very well played and congratulations for the choice of the tune (very melodic, put on my list) and the beautiful video!

OMG Denise and JoLa,
That was tremendous. You both complimented each other nicely. Rhythm and lead part were way in sync. Love the tone and precision with which you both played. You both brought a huge smile to my face. Rock and Roll Sistas. thanks for sharing and inspiring.
November 25, 2020 at 9:45 pm #220500BillyParticipant
No idea why I woke at 03:30 im assuming it was because I needed to hear this..
Collaborations are great fun, you both handled it well.
Didnt notice any speed difference due to time differences, then again maybe the time difference to Scotland from each of you has pulled it together.
“Time Zone” would be a fitting name for your duo.
Congrats on a great 1st collaboration.
November 26, 2020 at 4:07 am #220520SuperyobParticipant
Wow!!! Fantastique!!! More please.
November 26, 2020 at 4:26 am #220524DeniseParticipant
Thank you so much for all your nice comments about our duet. It’s been a very motivating experience!
And it was an honor for me to have JoLa as my duet partner!
I would love to do and see more of such cooperations.
November 26, 2020 at 6:12 am #220530Phil67Participant
Excellent, bravo, i’m voiceless.
Where does the white go when snow melts?
November 26, 2020 at 1:31 pm #220577AllanParticipant
just one word TERRIFIC
November 26, 2020 at 11:56 pm #220611Andy NParticipant
Transatlantic cooperation at its very best!
That was so good.
Jola, you’re a master of the percussive rhythm style.
Denise, sweet lead tone especially on those bends and lots of fluid moves up an down the neck.
November 27, 2020 at 9:39 am #220813JoLaParticipant
Thank you everyone for the supportive comments! It was a great pleasure to learn and virtually play together with Denise – thank you Denise for being such a good sport 🙂 What Steve and Bob suggested is actually a good idea, we should do that next time, trade four’s or something like that 🙂
I also like seeing AM peeps getting together for projects, it is fun to watch!
November 27, 2020 at 3:44 pm #221108John BParticipant
That was beautiful. Well played.
