EP289 is such a beautiful piece, I don’t want it to end when I’m playing it. It fells like it needs a ‘second verse’. Has anybody crafted any kind of extension to this piece?? It would be much appreciated!!
Well, in olden days we used to have a “Second Verse Challenge”, but hardly anybody participated, so it evaporated. But you are already skilled enough to create a second verse. Here’s how I do it: I thoroughly learn the lesson itself. Then I put on the jamtrack and start humming an alternative melody….maybe not the entire melody, but the main theme of it. This might take me several days, if no inspiration comes right away. Sometimes it comes while I’m having a cup of coffee in the morning, or driving down the highway, or lying in bed at night. But eventually it comes. Then I pick out the single notes on my guitar and record it into my DAW. Then I expand on them by adding maybe some dyads or triads. Why don’t you give it a try, then post it?
Yeah Dave, lets hear what you got…
