Hi all,
Here is my challenge for this month. Not too much inspiration for improv this month!

Jordan,
I marvel at the transformation of the awkward looking fretting hand of ?18 mos ago to the incredible feel I’m observing here. The improv was beautiful and the very unique stylistic touches like the back and forth slides at 1:18 and 2:14, the rake (on acoustic!) at 2:25 and your trill slides toward the end blew me away. I’m learning from you now (and that’s the beauty of the challenges).

Thanks John. It was yourself that first mentioned the awkward thumb behind the neck and ever since then I spent time making sure it was always nice and high ready to grip over the neck to help control a bend!
I think we all learn something from someone every month.

So well done, Jordan!
I totally agree with John above, your unique styling touches were very inspirational, you brought something new to the melody which we all know was not easy! I really enjoyed hearing your version, Jordan.🎸JoLa

Silky smooth Jordan. You have an excellent ear for creative phrasing. Your stylistic approach as John mentioned adds your own personal signature to the overall feel…nicely done.

Hi Jordan.
Agree with Charjo above. Impressed by the fast technical slides back-and forward, clean and precise. Your alterations on Brian’s original are tasty. Also the recording sound great.

Hugely entertaining, Jordan. The improv worked out very nicely and fit the mood of the lesson. I think a lot of us had difficulty coming up with some improv for this lesson, and I think that’s because the timing is kind of unpredictable, as compared to 12 bar blues, where you know exactly when the next chord change is coming.

Hi Jordan! You got very nice tone and the finger style just some timing fishes in the beginning. Very beautiful sound of your acoustic as well. The timing was a hardest challenge for me too on this lesson.

Great progress Jordan. Charjo said it perfectly and I agree. Also agree with Steve that this was a difficult lesson to improv over. You did it justice.

Nice one Jordan, very smooth and stylish. It’s been said before but the difficult part of this piece was trying to improvise over an unpredictable chord sequence but you weaved your improv’s into the melody very well indeed. A pleasure to listen to.

clean, confident playing, beautiful tone, nice extra trills and slides and a few well placed extra notes from the natural minor scale. Great example of less is more.

Hey Jordan, you changed the timing a bit at beginning of the video and ended up making it sound even better in my opinion ( I wasn’t sure if you did that intentionally or accidentally). Your playing is very smooth and pleasant to listen to. I really enjoyed it.
