Very nice playing and a cool looking setup too. Is that a Yamaha amp?
The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

Hello Pete,
Thank you for the comment. The amp is a Fishman loudbox mini. Plays well for my needs! 🙂

Your playing is absolutely flawless, Julie. I remember my fingers being killed with this lesson, too. I never really got it down as well as you, though. It’s very inspiring to watch you play it.

Thank you JoLa. It is a tough lesson.
I decided to try and figure out the caged system this summer and practice all the barre chords I can actually make out of all of them.
That lesson was a great start! 🙂

Your playing was…..immaculate is the first word that came into my mind. And that is one of Brian’s finest lessons.

Brilliant Julie, your determination has been rewarded many fold with that near impeccable performance. You have that slap style down perfectly while I’m still stumbling along with Micro061.

Thank you Richard.
I love the slap technique and working barre chords right now. That lesson was perfect!

Julie, that’s really nice played, with smooth rhythm! The barre chords sound clean. I don’t dare myself yet to play a lesson with so many barre chords..

Well played Julie. Looked like you played it with ease. Solid technique, left and right hand and played with feeling. Well done!

Excellent work Julie, I’d say time well spent. Barre chords can be challenging on an acoustic, a real pain even. But you seem to have a grip on them. 🙂

Really well done, Julie. The important thing is the consistent percussive effect you achieved, that’s a great skill.

Julie, I am impressed! Your steady tempo and confident down strokes for the percussive beats was great! You made it YOURS – who cares about the BPM!! Barre chords are to guitarists like planks are to a gym workout!!! I look forward to more of your playing. Bob

Really well played, Julie.
Yip, those barre chords, ay
Gets harder when you trying to lay down a melody as well. Not sure if this will help you, but try using your bigger muscles, in this case your shoulder. Try fretting the barre chord without your thumb, and pull the guitar towards you with your shoulder. Once you engage your thumb again and your newfound friend, your shoulder, it may get easier.
Thanks
Bernard
