Totally surprising sound, and it worked really well. I really like the ascending chord progression you added, and your playing was fine.
Only one problem: never saw anyone play a tele with Crazy Horse. You got the color right, and the sound, but doesn’t it have to be an LP?

yes agree, knew they all used lp but i did this on the 19th before i went away on vaca .. got back today didn’t feel i had much in me to do it over ,,it was a same day i learned the tabs,,and did my own take on the tele. ,,think Bryce said 25th was eod to enter sept challenge.. this was my first take on the ge smith ,,but you caught that about the paul thing.. actually my paul needs work, still think intonation is off..I’ll have to set the paul up soon

Definitely a Cinnamon Girl, Down by the River vibe. Nice twist, John.

John
Very cool sound and rendition! I really like the gritty, percussive feel that you achieved with this. Wonderful!

It looks like you are lying on the couch. I could never play like that, but obviously you can. Very enjoyable version. I particularly like the sound of your Tele.

I had not expected. And again, it proves to be able to see the different kind of Tracks. I thought it was cool. An interesting variation with your add one.
By the way: I See in the Background a violin?Wilfried
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Hey John,
You always get a great personal angle to the lessons and have an acute musical ear; they do travel really well into where you take them.
Great improvisation and always a pleasure to catch them.

Wow, I never expected to hear a version like that! You’ve done a really unique interpretation of the lesson that was totally fun to listen to. It seems like you should have been standing up to play that, and maybe jumping around a bit. Great job, I can’t wait to hear what you come up with next time. This is a great example of why these lesson challenges are so cool to watch and participate in.

John, that was a unique and fantastic version of this tune. I love the sound you get out of that telecaster.

Man John that was killer. I never thought about doing that w/ a heavy overdrive but it sounded awesome. I also like how you threw in a minor chord that wasn’t in the original. Very cool man.

Definitly one of the most unexpected versions of the EP131, but very well done. Great work on the chord progression too, John.
