ParticipantCongratulations on your first video posting Adam. Rhythmic section was right on tempo and tight and your lead is coming along nicely. I know Brian plays this at a crazy speed and I think you’ve picked a good tempo to work with. Sweet tone you’ve got coming from your guitar also. What brand is it? All the best from down south (Melbourne).

ParticipantThanks Garry. Brian does play it pretty fast.
I re-watch it and pick up all the mistakes I made when I recorded it but play it easily when I’m hanging upside down from a tree practicing.
The guitar is a Maton SRS70C. My one and only!
Great work on your doughnuts of late. Keep it up so we can get down!

ParticipantWelcome, Adam, among the acoustic players league and AM as well. You pick great lesson and played it pretty well, now it’s time to add the backing track. Nice piezo sound of your Maton. I didn’t read your profile but you must be an Australian. Maton betrayed you. This is wonderful how faithful are Australians to their own brands and it’s damn right thing and ideology. Maton is very good instrument. Maybe theres no a bible in every house but one Maton is hanging on the wall surely. Keep on picking!

ParticipantAbsolutely great your first submission!
Superb vibratos, great rhythm and tone. Fast licks well done. It’s kinda Chet Atkins playing (who’s one of my favorite players).
Thanks for sharing.

ParticipantHi Adam,
Congratulations on your first post, it sounded great. It’s a really good idea to play these to the backing track. It forces you to play smoothly, is great for your timing and starts you hearing the chord changes. VLC media player is a terrific download that lets you vary the tempo of the backing track or track with Brian included. It’s a great learning tool. A DAW (digital audio workstation) ie. recording software can do the same thing and is a common next step for AM members.

ParticipantThanks everyone. I had a fun time learning how to record the video and audio separately, then overlay the audio onto the video and publish to YouTube.
More practice ahead of me to get up to the backing track speed but I’ll get there.

ParticipantReally good first post, Adam! Your guitar has a nice sound. It is also good to play without a backing track; it practices keeping the timing, which you did great. I think with a backing track you can, as the next step, round off everything very nicely. Stay tuned and thumbs up!
