Nice going Bryce. It sounds fun, and I may have to take a look. I particularly like the tone you achieve doing the hybrid picking and double stops. It has a richness and smoothness to it.
The multiple takes thing gets frustrating, doesn’t it?

THAT WAS AWESOME, your playing was great, your fast licks were like lighting, a joy to watch. Only one complaint “I wish you would post MORE” thanks Bryce

That was great, Bryce! I play it all the time but not as well. Your tone and improv were right on too.

I can see why that one could involve “like” 40 takes. Nice job, great right hand work. Tone doesn’t get much better than that. How did you get the tone? Are you using the Peavey classic?
Also, great third verse. I didn’t even realize that wasn’t part of the lesson!

Bryce, this is a very authentic Sound you’ve chosen. A great groove. But really impressive for me is that you played very liquid. Really great management of your fingers. Including Your finger slide with a suitable timing.
That was really well done and a great Overall Package.Wilfried
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

Well done Bryce. This is one of the best sounding lessons in my book. Getting it up to full speed is my problem. I suspect you are a little short on tempo compared to the original but you made a great job of an intricate lesson and as Chargo says you made a great extention in keeping with the start. You may have seen my recent thread on the collaboration pages about extending lessons and posting them with the tab would you consider putting this up there?
Not a lot of folk seem to have published this lesson its not that easy to play with several fast licks

Bryce,
Great job on this one. It’s one that I’m currently working on and you are correct in saying, it’s a bit though. You mastered it and your tone is perfect. Those triplet runs are getting my fingers tided up in knots!!!Thanks for posting this one,

seeing you play it, you make it looks like it’s really easy to play, and that’s the biggest compliment i can make. You mastered that lesson!
great work 🙂

Nicely done, Bryce. BRAVO!
I just saw this posted on Facebook. One of the first things I saw, in fact, after a three hour drive home. So “now” I’ve just got to pick up my guitar. I’ve got a loooong way to go – beginner here – but having fun and learning now that I found ActiveMelody.com.If you are too busy to laugh you are too busy.

My dear friend Chief Motivational Officer Keymaster Reverend Bryce. We might have to think about a shorter name for you, but one thing is for sure: You can play! I didn’t know this lesson, but it’s easy to see that it’s challenging. I think you did really well on it. The ending was great! I can see you rocking the crowd when you’re on stage 🙂

That was great Bryce! Can’t get enough Freddie King style in my book. Nice improve as well. I just happened to load the jam track for this lesson while I was racking my brain with recording issues. I may give this a try soon.

Hi Bryce, just became aware of one of your moves; mentioning it so others can use it. The hammered third trill that you use in the fade can be (sort of) found in the other Freddie King lesson, EP070. It’s the chordal response to the “bass” riffs.
Was that intentionally taken from there or just a coincidence? Would you please name the sources of your other improv licks? If there are sources that you know of. Thanks!
Yeah, that was a great version of that tune!

Thanks everyone for the kind words! I have always wanted to get this lesson down so I made time to practice this weekend. Now that I have done it once it is just repetition from here out to be able to do it every time.
Duffy (@duffyprattcomcast-net): Multiple takes can get frustrating but that instantly melts when you finally nail the take! You have to keep your eye on the prize.
Doug T (@doug-tophamgmail-com): Man! I wish I had your dedication to get up crazy early to play. Then maybe I could post more. 🙂 In all seriousness, I am doing my best to play more and post to the forum.
@charjo: Thanks John! Yep! I was using my Peavey Classic 30. I mic’d it with a large condenser mic. I am using the clean channel with the reverb on 3.5 and a Boss BD-2 pedal. I have my volume about 75-80%, My Reverend Bass Contour about 75-80%. I found that I have to turn my amp up louder than I like and back the volume down on the pedal to a level that doesn’t make my ears ring or my wife and daughter protest. So normally I play the amp on a 1.5. I turn it up to 3 and back the volume down on the BD2. That is what makes it sing. Once I figured that out I was much happier with my tone.@johnstrat: I don’t really have a way of tabbing short of handwriting it. If you all are interested in learning the last part I can find someone to tab it.
@jeem: Lol! I have been called that a couple times now on and off the forum. It doesn’t help that I have my eye on this: Reverend Jetstream 390
@brianactivemelody-com: Thanks for the great lesson and posting this on Facebook!Qui (@qui-robinezgmail-com): That is a big compliment. Thanks!
BeachBill (@billorioles-org): Welcome to the Active Melody Community! Let me know if I can help you out with anything.
@Tremelow: That is quite a long name indeed!
@kubrider: It was really great to finally have some time to work on a lesson.
@don-deering: I did not take that from EP070. That little trill is a cool little lick. You are basically building a major chord triad (B major in this case). When Brian talks about building a chord that is all I am doing. It comes in handy when playing rhythm. With the exception of the end turnaround lick, I made the rest up. The turn around lick comes from the intro of Freddie King’s version of Tore Down.-Bryce

Hi Bryce thanks for the offer. I was hoping that a few more folk ep0EP yet spot the post and vote a ‘like’ to the extended lesson. What is needed is a plan of action. You happen to have hit the nail on the head by providing a fine example of what I concieved to be the way forward ie an extended lesson fully in the flavour of the original lesson. So if we could some how post the video and tab it would set the ball rolling for EP050Iwhat do you think?

Correction to text in above

Great playing, Bryce! The licks came out fluently and sounded like you have played them for about 37 years night by night, timing was like a clock and your pokerface was, as always, great fun to watch. I was not familiar with this lesson, but I am definitly gonna go for this one within short.
Many thanks for posting.

Definitely! But I’m not suggesting more work. If you should ever make one, I’m sure it would be appreciated.
I have a feeling this tab should actually get a post of its own rather than a comment (which quickly faded from view). It’s funny how I started to consider maximum exposure when thinking about posting something–although I don’t have figures to back it up, don’t post on Tuesday if you want something to be seen.

@charjo and @don-deering: I tell you what, I am willing do a slow walk through of the last turnaround lick I did in my addition to this lesson. I will post it in a month or so.

That would be very cool, but I was saying that to comment on just how far you extend yourself…and you’ve proven it’s true.

Hi Bryce A belated thanks for this post. I have only now re discovered the thread by searching for it. Is there a chance of creating a collaborative lesson extension tab for the forum and posting this extension there or at least to the thread which Ì started in that vain. I could not locate the tab before when I tried to find it previously. I gave up and hoped you would post a link to the collaborative thread. Also I could capture your video and use my slow hand software to create say a slow speed version for posting if you would be ok with that? John Strat
