Here we go again. Quite a few flubs but Oh Well. Brian please do more Jam Band type stuff! It’s more what I like to play and listen to. Thanks
I found an old Active Melody post from 2010. Helped me with this lesson. Not sure it’s part of full website even but I found it useful. Its called Easy 2 note guitar solo in key of A. It didn’t have an EP number asigned to it. Brian’s been at this for awhile now👍😎🎸
Maybe I’ll post that link somewhere on forum

Can hear why you like Jam Band stuff so much. It suits you, and you seem really comfortable with it. The chords on this one are basically the same as the Dead’s Franklins Tower. And I think several of the lines in this are Jerry inspired. Brian has at least one Allman’s lesson, one Jerry Garcia, and a couple on the mixolydian mode. Still no Trey Anastasio though, and that would be cool. I think you did great on this.

Yes definitely Franklins Tower. I actually looked at another YouTube video about how to play lead over that song just the other day. This lesson being the reason.

This is a great lesson and sweetly done, I keep meaning to do EP080 (mixolidian lesson) which has a similar feel and worth checking out for some ideas on expanding 266.
One of my all time favourites thanks for contributing

Thanks for heads up on EP 080. Looks like a good one.

Jeff, I think you did well. I understand your intention very well. But it is also not bad to have some out of their own comfort zone. Here you have proved it; it works.

Great choice! And a great lesson for jamming in the mixo mode. The bakground vamp like this one reminds me of The Stones, of course. “You can’t always get what you want!”

Nice job Jeff. Your tone was perfect, and sense of timing as well. I really enjoyed this.

Alright somebody finally did EP266 – one of my favorite lessons. You played it very well, and gave it a little different twist than Brian. After learning that lesson what I did was sit down and study some Allman Bros songs and figure out how to build some of their licks into it. So I’ll throw that out as a challenge to you.

I like the Allman Brothers idea. I’ve tried to play along with Melissa but couldn’t get anything good going. Might have to revisit it.

Very cool take on the lesson, I like the mellow tempo.

I chose slow tempo since I couldn’t play the fast/standard one. 😂

Well done! I really enjoyed it. I could really hear some Grateful Dead.

Jeff – Great post, you did a really nice job on this. I haven’t worked on this lesson yet, but you’ve inspired me to try.

That’s a great lesson you picked Jeff. I never did get this one up to tempo either. Should have kept working on it but with so many lessons, one gets distracted.
