    Hello,

here Freddie King gives a concert for you. The 1st part I took with my new little Helix Stomp through my Yamaha Powermixer. My Strat was connected with a cable and I used a thick plectrum. As a comparison in the 2nd part my Fender Hot Rod Amp, wireless connected with a thinner pick. What do you like better?

Hi Dieter. First of all, great playing on this one. EP050 is a super lesson with some tricky spots along the way and you navigated through with ease. Brilliant! Regarding sound I’m more a fan of the cleaner version myself (Fender Ho Rod Amp) but like anything it’s just personal taste. It’ll be interesting to hear other members’ views. All the best and a Happy New Year!

IMO the second rendition sounds clearer

Hot Rod no comparison. I have a Strat that looks identical to the one your are playing. BTW you nail this, sounds AMAZING!! Great job…

I prefered the 2nd session Deiter, not as loud vol wise, but less agressive sounding than session 1..
So im thinking increase of vol on session 2 would give you more scope ..

Hi Deiter. I’m going to vote for the helix stomp version with the heavy pick that came thru with some nice dirt and clarity. The second one was not very loud but you played them both really well. I only use a lighter pick for strumming chords and even then I just sometimes strum lighter with a heavy pick. That Freddie King lesson is in my favorites.

Deiter that was some amazing playing my friend. It’s all a matter of personal taste but I like the 2nd version better. I would like to hear that 2nd version recorded again with a little more volume. Again, a great job on this.

Well, first of all the good playing is always in player’s hands more than in equipment and you played this blues very well with a solid technique in both versions! But my preference goes to part 1, much more clarity and volume, and a bit of crunch that, in my opinion, fits well in this kind of blues. But this my personal taste!

Great playing Dieter. And your recording sounds better too. I liked the 2nd version best.

Nice playing Dieter. I am going to have to tackle this lesson in the future. I liked the 2nd version beteer by far. The first one sounded too dirty.

      Very nice arrangement!
I liked the 2nd version. It just seemed a little smoother and fluid to me. A good blues track to jam to. Thanks for posting !

That rocks, Dieter! Played to perfection. Especially liked the view of your playing on the first guitar. That’s some mighty fine alternate and hybrid picking. You were really hitting those notes hard, and very cleanly in perfect timing!

      Hi Dieter,
I like the first version. Freddy played in clubs, and this has a club feel, with the band into their fourth beer and third set. A little raw. Since nobody’s been able to go to a club in over a year, it’s nice to revive the vibe.

      Loved it!
