This great 50 song playlist of Eddie Boyd‘s singles from 1947 to 1962 includes guitarists Robert Lockwood (a lot of them), Sammy Lawhorn (“Vacation from the Blues,” “It’s Too Bad”), L.C. McKinley (“Five Long Years,” “Blue Coat Man”), Lee Cooper (also on quite a few), William Lacey, Eugene Pearson, Ellis Hunter, Lonnie Graham. I couldn’t wait for Blues Roots to post this. I hope you find something you like.
Eddie Boyd is probably best known as the author of “Five Long Years” (covered by Buddy Guy, among many others) and “Third Degree.” In the late 1960s, he made a couple albums on Blue Horizon with Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac.
