I’ve currently got a nearly mint condition Taylor 412ce acoustic guitar. Its a nice enough guitar. But playing barre chords is a real booger. I think its because its got low frets. I’ve lowered the action as much as possible and gone to thinner strings. This helped. But its still pretty difficult to play barre chords.
Don’t get me wrong. I know how to play barre chords. I can do it all day on an electric guitar.
What’s a really well-made acoustic guitar that’s fairly easy to barre chord? I’m assuming it would be something with bigger frets. These Taylor frets are really low (they aren’t worn…they are just low).
I’ve got a budget of $3k.
I’d try a B&G like Brian has in some videos. I can tell just by looking that’s a brand with larger-than-most frets.
