going to have to listen to that video a couple more times
thanks for postingThe melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

Good one. I just kind of know where to find an octave etc, but I never really analyzed it like that. This is kind of related to the CAGED stuff also.

…..or you could learn the notes on the fretboard. Some good tips though, I used the +7 to help me remember that the 7th fret (aside from the 8th fret B string) is the same note as the open string above. That helped me remember that awkward middle part of the fretboard. And don’t forget the Circle of Fifth’s, Billy, you know how much I love it. Don’t you find Sean has the most amusing affected speech pattern?
P.S. Where have you been?

Nowhere in particular John,
I still pop in from time to time for a read or a listen to what’s going on in the forum.
I’m still struggling with trying to find my motivation to pick up a guitar, tbh looking after my elderly parent is kinda sucking up my life’s free time. How’s that new strat of yours panning out, have you recorded with it yet?.

Being a good son definitely requires time, I’m sure a lot of us have been there. I recorded the new strat in the June challenge.

Awe man, that strat sounds amazing John, loved what you did to Brian’s lesson which only enhanced what is a great song.
Some day I’ll get back to playing and give that lesson a dance round the block....Billy..

Thanks Billy, even if my head hurts it’s good to get in a bit of theory now and then. Good tip John on the 7th fret= open above. But what’s a circle of 5ths?

Mike, I’m not sure if you’re pulling my leg about the Circle of 5ths.

I think he is Australian, though he could be American or possibly Dutch, why are they called Dutch when they come from Holland and not Hollander?.
